Extending Boundaries

There is always a burning desire in each of us to define ourselves- to define who we are, what we are here for, what we are meant to do, what we can or cannot do, what we should or shouldnt do, what we care for, what we shouldnt care for, what drives us, motivates us to move forward. Answers to these help us define who we are, and categorise ourselves as per our own understanding.

However, if we are to consider ourselves as ever-changing, ever-developing individuals, then answers to these questions would themselves change from time to time. Then does that mean, we dont bear a definition and we dont really know who we are? Well, thats where the confusion starts!

Some may argue that qualities in a person, are symbolic of an individual. Well, from the experiences I have gone through so far, one fact remains certain. Our life is always trying to test our boundaries and we can either choose to run away from this fact or face it, to ‚adapt‘ ourselves to change- which, in other words, would mean to extend our own boundaries. Hence, the importance of having to define ourselves takes a retreat, when one would rather use the time adapting to changing circumstances. Looking at the world around, which by the laws of thermodynamics(physics, in layman’s terms) is forever approaching a state of increasing entropy(or rather an increasing level of chaos), it would be of more primordial importance to be able to adapt rather than fixating on an idea of ourselves now, wouldn it? Something that even in a way Charles Darwin tried to inculcate in his theory of ‚Survival of the fittest‘.

So, this blog space is dedicated to the baby steps towards ‚Extending our boundaries‘, on a day-to-day basis. Somethings are better said than done, they often say,

Well, this is exactly where the test starts! And thereafter stands before us– a New definition of ourselves with every passing stage of Development!
