What we are here to give?

We often wonder how the world would be a more fulfilling place for us, in a way we are left satisfied with all the experiences our lives could possibly offer.

For some of us, we want to witness it through the best of adventures, not often within the reach of many or not often opted by many, to give us a feeling that we tried out something that no one has tried or witnessed before.

For others, life is mostly lived through the relationships one shares with other people whom they know in life or have come across. Relationships of many kinds – family, friendship, student-mentor, companion, lover, partner in work or in hobby, you name it. Their lives get defined by the people who they share it with.

For some others, life is defined with their own personal growth, how they have changed or rather developed through time. What they have learnt from life’s ordeals and how they weave a beautiful journey out of it, culminating into an experience of self discovery.

For some others, life is defined by a purpose. Defined by what they could achieve, and how they could attain the goals in the plan that they set out for themselves. All in all, it means to get out there, and do their thing, and show the world how to do it all… set their mark out there in the world!

There are many of us, who live a combination of all these routes for living life to the fullest, all to achieve the satisfaction that would ensure that in our last moments, we wouldn’t regret the life we had.

As I sit here writing this down, there is a part of me, that wants to go out into this lovely weather, feel the beautiful breeze of the fresh wind after a drizzle under the warm sun and soak up the atmosphere that is in every way rejuvenating! However, there is also a part of me, that wants to write this down, so as to not regret not having captured these thoughts to be able to share it ever.

Time is freaky, because it gives us a feeling that there is tons of it, lots of moments in store, but each such moment runs away very quickly, esp. when you are trying to do something that you have always wanted to do. And time is in a very mysterious way attached to our thoughts, because like the present becomes the past, thoughts could also perish in a fleeting moment. One has to then later ponder over to discover that very thought again, which may at times spark a whole new realm of possibilities and action!

So, here I am writing this down, for myself, to see through one big question– ‚What are we here to give?‘

Why would this question be so important? Is there some sort of fulfilment attached to finding the answer to this question?

Out of the few things that I could list out which could give me fulfilment in some way, the answer to this very question never found its place amongst a single one of them, well at least not directly. However, if I were to experience any of the above listed options to the very full, it might be weird to discover that the level of satisfaction/fulfilment in each of the listed routes had in some way to do with how much I could give.. Either by being part of something bigger, or even by being part of something that everyone involved had fun with.

Doing something only for ourselves, singles us out of the crowd, disassociates us from another, and could make us in actuality, feel very lonely. Real loneliness (I believe many can associate with this) stems out from that ’non-belongingness‘ – the idea that everything that we do or have, or fight for, is only for ourselves, and not for anyone else. Imagine fighting a lonely battle, where you have to face all the forces with no one else in the picture..

However, if your actions are in some way associated with the happiness of another – the strongest motivating emotion that can be associated with the human mind, then it gives us that force and the feeling of belongingness… the feeling where we arent alone anymore, because at the end of it all, we take with us, the happiness of not just ourselves, but also of another, if not many others. More so, we feel powerful, because we make it happen!

And all of a sudden, it doesnt matter if there is anyone physically present right beside us, because in our own inner world(where all our imagination takes life) we are connected with many… near or far, in the most intimate manner possible.

So, it doesnt matter in what way we are here to give. Its only important whether we are able to give to another, what could have made us happy.
